God willing, I will have my promised February podcast up this weekend. It’s not my fault I am shorted two days!!! Seriously, I likely will have it done on the 28th as I fully want to keep my committed schedule to at least one episode a month by the end of the month. There is also going to be a special treat following the regular podcast. The episode is already written as well as the show notes, I simply have to record it.

I can’t wait!!! I stumbled upon your podcast a couple of weeks ago and listened to ‘em all insanely fast, I’ve been dying to hear your next one. It’s like when I started watching Lost 3 seasons late, screamed through the DVDs in a short period of time and then had to start waiting every week for new episodes
Ugh!
Hi ZL (I can’t bring myself to type the name of that musical abomination that causes desolation)! Thank you so much for that iTunes review, it really brightened my day, and comments like that make all the work for this worthwhile. I am on track for recording on Friday night. It isn’t the recording that necessarily takes a long time but the post-production, adding in music and funny clips and stuff.
I now know the two people who actually bought a Zune. Welcome to the social
And I did the same thing with Lost and also with 24.
Hey, I can relate! Your aversion to the name of my music player of choice cannot exceed the revulsion I grappled with as I suffered through using iLoons to give that review
But it was well worth it, I’m glad it served its purpose well.
“…I’m glad it served its purpose well.”
The review, that is. Unless of course the purpose of that horrendous software is to induce vomiting, in which case it served its purpose as well
Why oh why do I attract all the crazies
Please tell me your Zune isn’t brown.
No, black. Oh, and I don’t have any Zune tattoos, nor do I plan to get any
So I’m not that crazy. It’s not like I created and maintain a humorous fansite dedicated to Microsoft software *wink*.
No need to, the software is hilarious enough. It speaks for itself. Oh look! A blue screen of death!
Touché
She shoots! She scores! [dizzle does happy dance]
LOL, don’t get too excited. After all, just how big an achievement is a successful riposte attacking Windows, really? It’s sort of like scoring on a goal minded by a sleeping goalie
.
tru dat, but it is oh so entertaining
“…it is oh so entertaining”
I’m guessing you mean your excitement, and not the dance. I’m glad I wasn’t there to see that… *shudders*
No the entertainment is in attacking Windows. And no you can’t be spared the dance.

… um…
…yeah, so… anyway… Love the podcast!
Great to see you back, and thanks for ending my withdrawal symptoms! Love the podcast. Let’s just say you’ve pretty well made me into a preterist.
Oh, and I’m more of a Sansa fan and Scrubs is the TV show for me.
Only one more day!!!
@alaskazimm please tell me you don’t have Zune
@Zune Lover I am working on it now, had some problem yesterday as part of server we are hosted on got hacked so we were down all day
LOL, I think he implied he owns a Sansa, not a Zune or iCrud. So no worries, you don’t have to view him in a negative light
No problem about the podcast, I’ll be as patient as I can be–which isn’t saying much. ARGH!
I don’t even know what a Sansa is. All dims in the light of the glowing Apple. Well, it can’t be any worse than a Zune. It must be meh rather than suckage.
I am actually getting ready to record in a few minutes. I forgot that I bought a new version of iLife, and I am not sure if there will be any learning curve with the new GarageBand.
Recording done. Post-production tomorrow, up tomorrow night.
I had never heard of a Sansa before, but looked the word up and came across stuff like this: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-Player-MicroSD-Expansion/dp/B000ETVKHE/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1235895081&sr=8-1. And you’re right, I’m thinking meh rather than iCrap
All bickering aside, I’m thrilled that we’re so close to getting to hear the next episode! Thanks for the hard work!
That’s old school Sansa. This is the one I’ve got: http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Sansa-Video-Player-Black/dp/B0015L0T68/ref=dp_ob_title_ce?ie=UTF8&qid=1235895081&sr=8-1
No meh there, I think it looks rather nice.
It does look kinda nice, actually. And whatever software you use to copy music to it can’t be any worse than iTunes!
No way on iTunes! I tried installed iTunes and saw how far it’s tentacles were wrapping around my computer so I aborted. I use MediaMonkey or plain old drag and drop.
@alaskazimm on no, they didn’t rip off the iPod at all, no…. ahem.
And you guys are just plained warped when it comes to iTunes. There’s hope. I will pray for your computing salvation.
You might be relieved to hear I am considering an Apple podcast. I had to start idrankthekoolaid because the theologyweb members were getting so tired of me being so apple-obnoxious that I had to start another site to get those urges off my chest…. now, maybe I need to do the same with a podcast. But maybe not. At theologyweb, I have two partners that I don’t want to tick off or reflect badly on. Here, eh, its just me. I tick off hyperpreterists all the time, at least Microsofties aren’t cyber-stalkisherish. I hope.
BTW, post production is all done. There was a few things I needed to learn with the new Garageband and some Apple scripts I think I need to get as it is default set-up more for the musician rather than the podcaster, i.e. I definitely do not want the metronome on by default.
Also, Alison Sheridan had given some tips of things she does in post-production that I am going to try. For instance, she doesn’t export into iTunes first, she exports until her desktop, uses the free app called Levelator, and then imports into iTunes. I am not so sure that my levels jump all over the place, but I am going to try my normal way, and her way to see if there is any appreciable difference. If there isn’t, I am going to skip the Levelator step in the future. I think that may be more for when there is a Skype interview and the levels are always all over the place during those. Anyways, exporting to the desktop right now.
